AN Olympic medallist is helping a Worthing charity promote its charity shops as part of a national campaign.

Tina Cook, patron of Guild Care, is supporting the charity as part of the Choose Charity Shops campaign, which was launched across the country.

Julia Johnson from the charity said: “The aim of the campaign is to encourage more people to donate directly to charity shops which thrive on donations in a climate where many charities are concerned they will not have enough second-hand items to sell. On average, everyone has at least one bag of unused clothing in their wardrobes which could be put to good use, adding to the £200million of income generated nationally each year for a huge range of good causes.”

Tina said: “I’m very happy to help out where I can.”

Guild Care’s charity shops are in Broadwater, Goring, Rustington, Rowlands Road, Worthing, and the GreenHouse, Meadow Road, in East Worthing.
