Pupils from the Vale School took part in a competition to design colourful posters to promote a community event.

Findon Valley Residents’ Association arranged the competition to promote its charity Spirit of Christmas extravaganza, which takes place tomorrow (Friday, December 7) from 5-7.30pm.

More than 60 posters were submitted by pupils from the school in Vale Avenue, with the winning design coming from Abi Walsh, showing a colourful montage of seasonal images. She won a £25 Amazon voucher. Her poster can now be seen in the shop windows along King’s Parade as well as on leaflets.

Second and third prizes of £15 and £10 vouchers were won by Archie Cairns and Eleanor Broad. All three children received their winning design mounted in a frame.
