TICKET sales from the Findon Valley variety show on September 14 have raised more than £100 for St Barnabas House hospice.

Ron Merriman, the Findon Valley Residents Association chairman, said: “We were really pleased with what we achieved in having a fun afternoon with the variety of acts for the Valley community.”

Acts included the recital of humorous and other themed poems from Wendy Fleming, the Rocky Road Duo and Gary Holder and his family performing as a band.

The performances lasted for more than two hours before Janet Eves was drawn as the raffle winner, taking home a deluxe food and wine hamper donated by Findon Valley Co-Op Funeral Care.

The Association’s next event is the ‘Spirit of Christmas’ festivity taking place along King’s Parade on December 6.
