Fire at Durrington High School

DURRINGTON High School students have been sent home following a fire at the school today (Monday, November 7).

The whole school was evacuated after a fire broke out in the girl’s toilets on the ground floor of the school, in The Boulevard, Durrington.

Two Worthing fire crews from the blue watch were called to the school just before noon.

It is thought the fire started after a toilet roll holder caught alight.

Head teacher Sue Marooney said police were now investigating the cause of the fire and said she hoped it would be business as usual tomorrow (Tuesday).
