Fire service called out to flat fire

West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service (WSFRS) was called out to a fire at a flat in Shakespeare Road, Worthing, this morning (February 16).

A spokesman for WSFRS said: “The call came in at 10.30am on Thursday.

“The cause of the fire is thought to have been from under floor electric heating.

“Two breathing apparatus, two hose reels and one covering jet was used to deal with the fire.

“The ignition is being treated as accidental.

“The team left the scene at 11.30am.”
