Firefighters called after prisoner’s handcuffs become stuck in Worthing custody centre

FIREFIGHTERS had to use bolt cutters after a prisoner’s handcuffs became jammed today (June 26).

The prisoner was being led to his cell in Worthing’s custody centre, in Centenary House, Durrington, when his handcuffs became stuck.

Police officers could not remove the handcuffs and firefighters were called to remove them at 4.22am, using bolt cutters.
