Great Gatsby night to support Guild Care

A wonderful quote from the book The Great Gatsby, by F. Scott Fitzgerald, states: 'And I like large parties. They're so intimate. At small parties there isn't any privacy.'

So what better way of getting in the spirit of Gatsby than going to Guild Care’s large Great Gatsby party on Saturday, April 8.

Guild Care is teaming up with a great team to deliver an evening of glitz and glamour, dance lessons, a little bit of beautiful and tasteful burlesque and great music.

The evening, which is raising funds for our dementia services, will be held at The Warren Ballroom at Worthing College, 1 Sanditon Way, Worthing, BN14 9FD.

Dawn Gracie, singer, burlesque teacher and all round entertainer known for her ‘Dawns Vintage Do’, will be the fabulous mistress of ceremonies.

Charleston lessons will be directed by Andy McGregor and there will be a burlesque performance by Odelia Opium – while burlesque could be seen as risqué it is a beautiful and very respectful dance.

Why not join them for a 1920s themed evening? Fancy dress is optional.

The evening will begin at 7pm with a welcome drink and then Dawn Gracie will take over the proceedings and lead the evening until late.

The ticket cost is £15 per person and will go a long way to supporting Guild Care’s community dementia care services which operate from their Bradbury Wellbeing Centre next to Haviland House in Robin Road, Goring.

Guild Care cares for thousands of people every year who are living with complex dementia but, just as important, it cares for their carers.

Looking after a loved one with dementia is physically and mentally exhausting and can be extremely isolating.

Guild Care is a lifeline for many carers giving them time and space to recharge so that they can continue to care for their family member.

Not only is Guild Care a helping hand and a listening ear, it is also there with help and advice about funding and how to find other help and support.

The Great Gatsby night will be another event to raise funds to support the community and every penny raised will be spent right here in Worthing, supporting the people that live in our community.

Tickets are selling fast so do book your tickets now.
