Green light for new urban nature project

AN URBAN nature project has been launched by the council to help Worthing residents connect with their natural surroundings and discover local wildlife.

Wild About Worthing will be run by former countryside ranger Dave Fawcett who hopes it will offer a range of community wildlife activities including an outdoor learning programme for primary school children and skills-based conservation activities for teenagers.

Dave will also be helping Worthing residents with wildlife gardening and encouraging local people to record the wildlife they spot in their gardens.

He said: “I’m looking forward to working in Worthing. There’s so much that people of all ages can do here to discover wildlife and help it thrive in our gardens and parks.

“There’s also a whole range of amazing marine life along our wonderful seafront that’s such an important part of Worthing’s seaside character.”
