A GROUP of 74 people, including Scooby Doo and Marilyn Monroe, abseiled down cliffs to raise money for a Worthing charity.

The abseil at Peacehaven Heights was in aid of Worthing Churches Homeless Projects, which supports people out of homelessness.

Scooby Doo was among the willing participants who abseiled the 90ft cliff face.

The charity estimates it has raised more than £8,000 from the event, which will help provide continued services in the area.

Louise Brooks from the charity said: “We had a great day with people aged 13 to 76 years old abseiling. We want to thank everyone who challenged themselves and raised valuable funds for the charity in the process, to our volunteer helpers and also to the abseil instructor team from EightPointTwo for making the day such a great success.”
