MORE than £1,000 has been raised for a Worthing charity with a sponsored walk.
On Saturday, 14 people walked from Worthing to Brighton pier, with the gruelling trip taking more than four hours.
Then, after finishing the walk, half the group walked back to Worthing pier again.
In total, £1,300 was raised for Worthing-based charity Kids in Kenya, which helps some of the poorest children living in the country.
Dave Cox, the founder of Kids in Kenya, said he was impressed with those who took part and pleased with the amount raised.
Dave said: “I had hoped for between £700 and £800, so was really pleased with what we raised.
“Some of the people who took part are the sort of people who don’t normally walk and would get a taxi into town on a Saturday, so I was really impressed they managed to finish.”
