Haul of valuables worth £30,000 stolen in Worthing burglary
A HAUL of valuables worth more than £30,000 was stolen from a house in Worthing.
Many sentimental and valuable items were stolen during the burglary in Goodwood Road on Wednesday, September 28.
A large number of Dresden and Royal Doulton figurine porcelain pieces were taken, along with an octagon shaped Victorian sewing table, a men’s Omega gold watch and several oil paintings, in gold-coloured gilt frames.
A large amount of expensive jewellery, which was inside an dark green freestanding heavy iron Milner safe, about two inches wide in size, was taken. A number of ladies clothes were also stolen, together with a set of ladies golf clubs, a laptop, an Ipad, and two hand-held drills.
Police said the total value of the haul has not been calculated, but is believed to be in excess of £30,000.
Detective Sergeant Simon Dunn said: “This theft has left the victims devastated. A 4x4 vehicle with a tyre on the rear door was seen to drive away along Goodwood Road shortly after midnight, but the burglary was not discovered until later on the Thursday morning.
“Have these items been offered to you for sale a cheap price? The porcelain items may be wrapped in the ladies clothing. The safe may have been abandoned somewhere locally.
