THE SALE of a Lancing three bedroom house has been endorsed by West Sussex County Council.

The terraced property in Brighton Road is among 11 properties declared surplus to requirements and available for disposal.

Michael Brown, cabinet member for finance, has endorsed the decision ‘to enable their onward disposal’.

The decision will come into effect at the end of the call-in period, unless the procedure is activated before the deadline, which is tomorrow at 5pm.

The terraced house which was subject to a secure tenancy, was originally purchased as part of the A259 Brighton Road Improvement, a scheme rescinded in the 1970s.

The is no requirement for it to be retained by the county council following the expiry of the secure tenancy.

This property will also be taken to auction.

The council said the sale would ‘yield capital receipts upon completion of the individual sales’.
