FOR the past decade, Joy and Pete Anderson have lit up their home for Christmas with hundreds of glittering decorations.
The couple cannot begin to estimate how many lights adorn their Bulkington Road home, but they know the display costs them an average extra £3 per day in electricity.
Pete, 78, said: “We put the lights on every year. The ones on the roof have been up about 10 to 12 years, and they stay up permanently as it’s too difficult to take them down.
“Then we started decorating the garden and our caravan with lights about four or five years ago, and add a new decoration every year – although they do get expensive, at about £100 a go.”
For the past two years the couple collected donations for the Sussex Air Ambulance.
This year, since December 1 when the lights were switched on, they have raised £115 for Help for Heroes.
