JIM Deen has been selected to contest the Worthing West constituency for Labour in next year’s General Election.
It is a return to front-line politics for Mr Deen, who stood in the old Worthing constituency in 1992.
Mr Deen said: “I feel the same kind of anger now as I did back then when we were facing the appalling damage the Thatcher government had inflicted on so many families and communities. This time, it’s taken less than five years for the Tory-led coalition to set about destroying cherished services like the NHS and education and have brought misery to the lives of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged with policies like the Bedroom Tax.”
