A performance by Debbie Rutherford from Lancing will be aired to millions during The X Factor ad breaks this weekend.

Programme sponsor TalkTalk TV chose Debbie’s rendition of ‘Girls just want to have fun’ by Cyndi Lauper to appear in one of the ‘BopHeads’ music videos on Sunday night’s show.

Debbie, 50, said on hearing the news “I’m so surprised and excited to appear on TV this weekend. I was looking after my grandchildren and thought it would be fun to make a video on the app, but I never thought I would actually get picked to appear on the adverts!”

David Parslow, head of marketing at TalkTalk, said: “Fans of The X Factor love having the chance to be part of one of the nation’s favourite entertainment shows. Our BopHeads music videos are huge fun. Whether you’re rocking out with the whole family or belting out a solo ballad, anyone can get a taste of stardom”.

Like Debbie, anyone can be on TV, all fans need to do is download the app from Apple Store or Google Play, choose their track to sing along to and hit record. TalkTalk will choose the best videos to be broadcast to the nation.

What’s more throughout the series TalkTalk TV will give customers and fans the chance to win thousands of prizes, including tickets to the live shows.
