Lancing man punched repeatedly in face

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was repeatedly punched in the face by a teenager in Lancing.

The 48-year-old victim was in Monks Recreation Ground, off Crabtree Lane, at about 7.45pm on Sunday (August 3) when he was assaulted.

The victim, from Lancing, was attacked by a teenage boy who was stood among a group of 10 to 15 children.

He suffered cuts to his lip and damaged teeth.

PC Matt Welch said: “The victim suffered a nasty facial injury and we are keen to find people who saw the incident.

“If you saw any part of what happened, please contact us.”

A 17-year-old boy from Lancing has been arrested and questioned on suspicion of assault. He was released on bail until August 17.
