A YOUTH project is working hard to secure millions of pounds of funding so it can realise its dream.
Electric Storm Youth’s plan for a multi-purpose community centre and external climbing wall for young people is slowly coming to fruition.
Planning permission to transform the former Freshbrook School site, in Grinstead Lane, Lancing, into a community centre was granted in August.
But the project needs £3million – a figure organisers are far from achieving.
Marion Peskett, chairman of Electric Storm Youth, said everyone was working hard behind the scenes to secure much-needed funding. “We can now apply for bigger grants and trusts as we have planning permission,” she said.
“We began with smaller grants, such as Awards For All and an Adur community grant, to get our confidence up before going for the bigger grants.”
