Lancing take away staff held at gunpoint

A MAN entered Uncle Sam’s fast food restaurant in Lancing on Saturday and pointed a gun at staff.

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man entered Uncle Sam’s fast food restaurant in Crabtree Lane, Lancing, at around 9.15pm on Saturday, pointed a gun at staff and demanded cash.

The robber was handed several hundred pounds and made off on foot towards Sompting.

He was wearing a dark hooded jacket fastened to the chin and with the hood up, dark trousers or jeans and white-laced trainers.

The two members of staff confronted by the robber were unhurt but badly shaken.

House-to-house enquiries are taking place in the area.
