More social housing desperately needed in Worthing

However, one of the sites the proposal affects is the bus depot with a suggestion of 800 homes and lots of retail space. Do we need more retail space? Probably not.

A suggestion was made that the bus depot should move to the old tip in East Worthing.

At present all the buses stop in Chapel Road and the seafront.

Many change drivers there. Are the drivers to make their way to the seafront (about a mile) and wait in a seafront shelter for their bus?

All the buses will have to leave the new depot which will cause chaos in Dominion Road and cause much noise to residents. Has this proposal really been thought out?

A much more sensible idea would be to use the old Police Station site but that has been sold for flats and retail (supposedly). Needless to say no plans have appeared.

With 200 homes at the Grafton site, that will make 1,000 new homes with no new doctors, hospital space nor room in the schools.

We need to address all these problems before we build more homes.

Homes are desperately needed but they need to be social housing to rent.
