Rustington's Windmill Inn went beyond call of duty for cancer patient

I would like to praise the owners at the windmill Inn in Rustington for the kind gesture they did for me.

I am currently half way through receiving chemotherapy for breast cancer and due to the side effects that comes with it my taste buds are all over the place. So one Sunday evening at 6pm, when I was not feeling well at all, my husband Mike decided to pop down to The windmill as it’s our local. On talking to the owner’s son, David, who was watching football at the time, my husband asked if they were still cooking, but the kitchen had already closed and when Mike said I was ill and all I wanted was a ploughman’s, David then said not a problem I will do one to take away.

I cannot thank The Windmill Inn enough for the kind gesture and for them going out of their way for me.

This is a pub that deserves to be praised and a pillar to the community.

If you go on The Windmill Inn’s facebook, you will see the post that my husband Mike Greaves put up with a picture of myself, with over 140 likes and some comments received by locals.

They deserve to be recognised for this.
