Worthing Hospital staff deserve to be proud

In the early hours of the January 26, my husband David Rodd suffered a massive cardiac arrest, which released a clot that travelled to his brain and caused a stroke.

From the moment I called 999, while I carried out CPR on David, while talking to the emergency services operator, to the quick decisions of the two young paramedics, who arrived and blue lighted David to the hospital, the care and service we received was impeccable.

I would like to thank A&E for their service and also Dr Patel for his quick decision making as ultimately the quick actions of this team saved David’s life.

There are not words that we can use to truly say what we feel as a family.

From the consultants to the nurses and the health care assistants, from the physios to the rehabilitation team and the tea ladies, you all played a part in getting David to where he is today (not out of the woods but constantly moving forwards).

You all not only gave medical service but gave encouragement and support not only to David but all of the family.

Therefore wear your uniforms with pride, you all truly deserve the praise.

I would also like to thank the staff in the hospital’s Shoreline restautant who looked after me and the family on some long days and after some even longer nights.

So we are now home and I am pleased to say the care from the home rehabilitation teams is also superb, which brings me back to those important eight letters that I can never say enough – thank you.
