A CONDUCTOR suffered a blow to the head and cuts and bruises when he was attacked at Lancing station on Tuesday morning.
Angry rail passengers were delayed by more than 30 minutes as a result of the rush-hour attack.
As many as four trains were backed up while police dealt with the incident on the Southampton to Brighton service, which was held at the station after the emergency alarm was activated.
British Transport Police were called to deal with the incident at 7.45am when the train was packed with commuters.
