Author makes surprise visit at Worthing Library

A FORMER children’s TV presenter and popular author paid a surprise visit to Worthing Library last Thursday (August 22).

Sue Monroe, who has worked as a presenter on GMTV kids and Cbeebies, arrived unannounced at the library, in Richmond Road, to read to children from her comic tale The Magnificent Moon Hare.

The event was one of a series of special pop-up surprises taking place across the UK this summer as part of the London 2012 Festival, a 12-week nationwide festival running until September 9.

Sue also spoke about her characters and discussed with the children their favourite stories. She encouraged them to join in the adventure of The Reading Agency national charity’s Story Lab: The Summer Reading Challenge 2012 by reading six books or more from their library during the summer holidays.
