TWO boys whose lives have been touched by cancer raised money for charity with a sponsored bike ride.

Alex Warne, who used to have leukaemia, and his friend, Josh Christian-Adams, whose stepfather died from oesophageal cancer, raised funds for Cancer Research when they cycled around the Isle of Wight last Saturday, August 18.

It took the boys, who are both 15, eight hours to complete the 80-mile ride, after they suffered a “bike malfunction” towards the end of the ride.

But the trip had added poignancy for the pair, as Alex’s mother, Julie Warne, was diagnosed with breast cancer in May, and Josh’s stepfather first became ill on the Isle of Wight.

The ride was held, as a tribute, on the birthday of Josh’s step-dad, Vince Adams.

For the full story, read the Worthing Herald, out from Thursday, August 30.
