BREAKING NEWS: Concrete casing was feared to be a bomb on Worthing Beach
BOMB disposal experts were called to Worthing Beach after a what was believed to be a Second World War mine was discovered this morning.
The Worthing beach crew discovered lump of concrete at 11am this morning (Tuesday, September 23) 100 yards south of the Worthing Lido.
It turned out to be part of a mooring buoy.
The area was cordoned off until about 2pm and coastguards, Sussex Police and the Royal Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal team were been called in and discovered the "mine" was harmless.
