Car fire in Worthing car park

Fire crews were called to a car fire in a Worthing car park yesterday afternoon.

Two engines attended the fire in Marine Place near Debenhams after a call out at 4:41pm.

A spokesperson for West Sussex Fire and Rescue said firefighters successfully extinguished the car by 5.20pm. It is thought the blaze started accidentally.

No one was hurt and no other vehicles were burned, but heat and smoke damage was caused to the adjacent building.
