A CHARITY for children with additional needs has been presented with a cheque for £200 after winning a supermarket competition.

Worthing Kids and Dapper Snapper were selected as one of three charities to have a box at ASDA in Ferring, with customers invited to put green tokens in their favourite charity’s box.

The charity received the most tokens and a cheque for £200 was presented to them at its World Cup fun day event at Palatine Park, Worthing, on Friday, May 30. Events co-ordinator Lydia Wilson said: “It was very gratefully received as our charity costs hundreds of pounds a month to run.

The fun day featured football coaching from Worthing Town FC coaches, while musical entertainment was provided by Dave Benson Phillips and other local groups.

Lydia added: “Great fun was had by all and there was a huge turnout out, with £158 on the day.”

The charity were also presented with a cheque for £302 from SK Dance on May 23, which will help run the group’s regular events.
