It may seem like something out of science fiction, but Japanese motor company Honda, really has developed a mind-reading robot control.
Yesterday (Tuesday, March 31) the company revealed the new technology, linking brain function and thoughts with robotics, at the Japanese automaker's headquarters in Tokyo, Japan.
Honda has developed a way to read patterns of electric currents on a person's scalp, as well as changes in cerebral blood flow, when a person thinks about four simple movements – moving the right hand, moving the left hand, trotting and eating.
The cap analyses thought patterns, and then relaying them as wireless commands for Asimo, its human-shaped robot.
Sorry dog owners, there is no new diet developed by the Dogs Trust, and the Born Free Foundation has not discovered a new sub-species of elephant.
