THE people of Adur and Worthing went to the polls on Thursday, to vote in the local and European elections.
Herald reporters Oli Poole, Dan Cain and Joe Riddle were at Friday’s count, held at the Lancing Leisure Centre, with all the results Tweeted and published live to www.worthingherald.co.uk and www.shorehamherald.co.uk as they were announced.
UKIP secured five seats on Adur Council and four in the Lancing and Sompting parish-council by-elections.
Adur Council chairman Mike Mendoza and leader Neil Parkin were voted in for further terms of office, while Lancing Parish Council’s new chairman James Butcher was elected to the district council for the first time.
