Exotic new wetland arrivals in Arundel

There are two exotic new arrivals gracefully swimming about in Arundel.

The pair of trumpeter swan cygnets are a rare sight at Arundel Wetland Centre and have been attracting crowds of visitors.

Conservation manager Paul Stevens said: "We are delighted with the new arrivals and they are settling into their enclosure very well.

"It has been 18 years since a trumpeter pair has been successful at Arundel Wetland Centre so the staff are overjoyed and proud of the hard work we've put in.

"Naturally the parents are acting very proud and protective of the youngsters as well."

The parents and cygnets can easily be seen in their enclosure, a lot

of time being devoted to showing the young how to swim, eat and survive.

The trumpeter swans are part of the collection of exotic birds housed at the centre as part of the reserve's breeding programmes.
