Ferring farm needs votes to win funding
FERRING Country Centre’s Small Animal Farm is cock-a-hoop at the news it is a semi-finalist in this year’s National Lottery Awards.
The eventual winner will receive £2,000, but the centre urgently needs votes in a head-to-head battle with other National Lottery-funded projects.
Ten semi-finalists have been shortlisted for the big difference they have made with Lottery money (The Ferring centre received £50,000) and Worthing area residents are being urged to cast a vote to help them make it through to the final.
The seven award categories reflect the main areas of Lottery funding. The winning project in each category will receive national recognition at a star-studded event later this year, broadcast on BBC One, as well as £2,000 to spend on their project.
Lynda Vowles, general manager at the farm, said: “Lottery money has helped us to build a fantastic facility that’s open to everyone, enabling local adults with learning difficulties to gain work training, volunteering and possibly employment opportunities in their communities.”
Voting for the semi-finals starts at 9am on Tuesday and ends at midday on Monday, June 20.
To vote for Ferring Country Centre’s Small Animal Farm, call 0844 836 9684 or log on to www.lotterygoodcauses.org.uk/awards
Do not to call before lines open as the vote will not be counted, but you will be charged for the call.
The three projects in each category with the highest number of votes will go through to the final round of public voting later this summer.
