Fight to save school playground heats up

Waiting for Video...

PARENTS of Heene First School, Worthing, have enlisted the help of children to spread the message of their campaign regarding the old Jolly Brewers site in Clifton Road.

They want West Sussex County Council to buy the land, which is also the subject of a planning application to build 20 flats.

If Worthing Borough Council approves the plans, a chunk of the playground will be lost when the school completes a multi-million pound extension project in preparation for becoming a primary. The campaigning parents, who have collected more than 2,000 petition signatures, have produced a video featuring their children explaining what the school playground means to them.
