These are the horrific injuries Oscar the cat was left with after being shot in the eye with a pellet gun.

Owner Amanda Leadbetter, of Sullington Gardens, Findon Valley, said Oscar had ventured outside in the morning but did not return home for hours.

It was later in the day when Amanda, 36, saw her three-year-old tabby return home with its damaged eye, which needed to be removed.

Vets also found another pellet in Oscar’s stomach, and now the RSPCA and the police are investigating whether the attacks may have been deliberate.

Amanda described the shootings as “vile”.
