A WORTHING kitten has received unexpected global attention after its owners videoed it falling off the bed after giving a ‘high-five’.

Fugly, owned by photographers Lise Madgwick and Matt Rann, of Tarring Road, was put on video sharing site YouTube and has been viewed by nearly 150,000 people.

The 13-second clip, in which the ginger feline appears to give a high-five, was featured on a number of websites around the world.

Matt, 22, said: “We were just playing with him and he started doing high-fives.

“It was the next morning when we had various agencies asking to buy rights for the video we realised how popular it was.

“He was then featured on New York Daily News, Huffington post, Hollywoodgossip.com and many more.

“We never expected him to get this much attention.”

Fugly, who was taken in by the couple after their friends needed to rehome him, is now in talks to work on a project with Cats Protection.

Matt said: “People seem to love him and gets lots of attention. Since the video, we have had lots of offers from people wanting to buy him.”

Fugly now has his own Facebook page, with his owners hoping to build up his following.
