TWO Girl Guides have organised a fundraising Hoedown in aid of international service projects.

Alessia Murden, 13, and Niamh Heaysman, 13, of 4th Goring Guides have been selected from Guides in London and the South East to represent the UK on a project.

Niamh will head out to Sri Lanka in July to work in an orphanage and with elephants, and has a target of £2,500, while Alessia will travel to Japan in 2015 for a yet to be confirmed project and needs to raise £3,500.

Alessia said: “It’s going to be loads of fun and it is on the same day as my birthday, so it’s going to be an amazing birthday party for me too.”

Niamh added: “Please come along to our Hoedown, you will have loads of fun, it’s going to be a great evening with very good service and lots of smiley faces.”

The Hoedown will take place in St Mary’s Church Hall, in Goring, from 7-11pm, on February 8.

Tickets cost £12 and include a Mexican supper.

There will be a bar and a raffle with a top prize of £100 donated by Worthing Pier’s Southern Pavilion.
