Hit-and-run driver charged

A MOTORCYCLIST has been charged with dangerous driving after a hit-and-run collision with a pensioner in Lancing.

Michael Wood, 32, of Greet Road, Lancing, has been charged with dangerous driving, driving without insurance, driving with no licence, and failing to stop after a road crash.

The accident happened on September 27, when Wood allegedly drove his motorcycle into the 75-year-old woman before fleeing the scene.

He appeared before Worthing magistrates on December 3 and will appear at Chichester Crown Court on January 17.

The victim, from Sompting, suffered cuts and bruises.
