A LATVIAN pensioner struggling to cope with the pain of an undisclosed illness took her own life at her Lancing home in December.
An inquest heard how Tamara Maskevica, 67, born in Riga, hanged herself from the bannister of her home in Monks Avenue, Lancing.
Her body was discovered by police at around 10am on December 15, after a neighbour raised the alarm.
Miss Maskevica left a number of letters and a video in Russian indicating that she intended to take her own life.
A post-mortem examination carried out at Worthing Hospital by Dr Mark Appleton showed no signs of anyone else being involved in her death.
Miss Maskevica had no family in the country.
Her niece came over from Latvia for the funeral.
Coroner David Skipp recorded a verdict of suicide.
