PUPILS were given the chance to play music in front of sporting stars when they performed to the touring West Indies cricket team.

The steel band of Sir Robert Woodard Academy, in Upper Boundstone Lane, performed during Sussex Cricket Club’s match with the West Indies, which was held this weekend at the county cricket ground in Hove.

The rain led to much of the cricket being called off, but the band were still able to perform for crowds, both in person and on television, when the students appeared on Sky News.
