A BURST water pipe caused misery for homeowners in Worthing this afternoon (Sunday, April 13).
More than 30 people in Bridge Road called Southern Water to report the burst main, a spokeswoman for the water company said.
A nine inch, underground pipe burst, shortly before 1.30pm, flooding much of the street with murky, brown water and leaving homes temporarily without water.
And despite the liquid’s appearance, a Southern Water spokeswoman said that residents had nothing to fear claiming that the water was not from any sewage pipe.
Water pressure has since been restored to the area’s network and an investigation has been launched into the cause of the burst.
