Missing Elaine: husband released on bail

THE husband of missing Ferring woman Elaine Taggart has been released on bail after being arrested on suspicion of her murder.

Andy Taggart, 43, was arrested on Wednesday morning at the family's Ferringham Lane home.

He was questioned until yesterday evening (Thursday, April 10) after detectives were granted an extra 12-hours to detain him.

He was then released on police bail and ordered to report back on May 27.

As forensic investigators scoured the large, detached family house for clues, around half a dozen police officers began digging in the front garden.

Officers remained at the property overnight and digging resumed this morning (Friday, April 11).

Locals said they didn't think Mr Taggart had returned to his home.
