New day nursery opens in Worthing
MAYOR Tom Wye was among the guests at the grand reopening of Davison High School's day nursery.
At a special ceremony, Major Wye and wife Lesley were given a tour of the new Davison Day Nursery, based in the grounds of the school in Selborne Road.
The new building can accommodate 36 children aged from three months to five years, and has separate rooms for babies, toddlers and pre-school children.
It is also used by students from the school who drop in for sessions as part of their child development studies.
Pip Fuller, community manager for Davison, said: "Both the staff and children are absolutely delighted with the new accommodation. It's bright and airy and so far everyone has been very impressed.
"Having the nursery on site has been vital for many staff especially, as it has allowed them to continue teaching after having children."
The original nursery was set up in 1989 and was then called the Davison Crche.
The new building has allowed the nursery to take more pupils and has given it more space.
