Nights in prison cell could prove spooky
A night in a haunted Pevensey prison cell is being offered to the public for £10 a ticket.
Guests will stay in the ancient Court House museum and jail in the village.
The old cell still has its stone-bench beds, solid oak door and spiked walls and boasts ghosts from hundreds of years ago when people were sentenced to death.
The Pevensey Town Trust, which administers the old building, is now opening its doors on Friday nights to serious ghost hunters.
Groups of six to 12 people can stay in the building until 3.30am, accompanied by a medium or paranormal researcher from the British Paranormal Association.
A leaflet advertising the sessions says, "This is a real challenge and it's not for the weak-hearted.
"Experience and visualise what it must have been like for the past serving guest and the paranormal guests which have made it their full time home."
To book a night in the cell or for more information visit www.ukbpa.net or call 07891 149 970 or 01323 762309.
