PICTURES: Lancing band braves wind for beach performance
WINDY weather failed to blow off course a brass band's Proms on the Green concert.
Members of Lancing Brass braved strong winds and the threat of rain to perform for two hours on Beach Green, Lancing, as part of the Adur Festival.
"Despite the weather, those that turned up had a good time and we had a lot of fun getting the gazebo up," said band secretary Paul Smith.
"The weather just wasn't with us, I'm afraid – it was very windy and overcast so that kept our audience down."
Lancing Brass' next concert is on Sunday at the Eastbourne band stand from 3pm to 4.30pm.
Anyone who would like more information about the band, which rehearses on Monday nights, from 8pm to 10pm, at the Royal British Legion Club in Culver Road, Lancing, can visit the group's website, at www.lancingbrass.org.uk
