POLICE are looking for a man who asked a girl to get into his car in Findon Valley.

Just after 8.50am on Wednesday, February 10, the 16-year-old girl was at the bus stop outside the post office on the shopping parade in Findon Road, Findon Valley.

She was waiting for a southbound bus, when a large black saloon car drove up and the driver, who she did not know, asked her to get into the car so he could give her a lift.

Police said only after she had refused several times did he drive off towards Worthing. He did not get out of the car at any stage and did not threaten her, but the girl was very upset.

The driver is described as white, in his 40s, with greying hair and was wearing a grey top with a black jacket.

Sergeant Ross Wickings said; “We have had no similar reports in the area, and are keeping an open mind, but we do want to find this man to establish exactly what his intentions were.

“If you can help, please contact us via 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call 101, quoting serial 327 of 10/02.

“You can also contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 (www.crimestoppers-org.uk).”
