RACE FOR LIFE: Herald team take up the challenge

RATHER than just reporting on Cancer Research UK's Worthing Race for Life, this year the Herald's own journalists are taking part.

Features editor Kirsty Hanlon, reporter Katherine McGlinchey and news editor Nicola McLarnon will join more than 2,000 women taking on the challenge.

The race is on Sunday, July 20, and for the second year running is being held at Worthing Rugby Club in Angmering.

The Herald Trio, as they have nicknamed themselves, are hoping to raise more than 500 for Cancer Research UK.

Katherine said: "We spend a lot of time writing about people who are taking on challenges for charity so we thought it was our turn to try something.

"Cancer Research UK does such great work and the money we raise will benefit people battling the disease, as well as help scientists research a cure.

"The money would be greatly appreciated, so we ask you to dig deep and give as much as you can."

Details of how the girls get on will be published in the Worthing Herald, along with a report and photographs of the event, on Thursday, July 24.
