Safe stolen in Worthing shop burglary

TWO men broke into a shop and stole a safe containing hundreds of pounds last Tuesday evening.

The theft took place at the Bargain Express, in Chapel Road, Worthing, between 7.30pm and 10.30pm on Tuesday, February 11.

The thieves, wearing green jackets with blue hooded tops, were recorded on store CCTV in the shop at the time.

They gained entry by forcing their way in at the rear of the property in Liverpool Gardens.

PC Christopher Moore, from the local Neighbourhood Response Team, said: “Police have noted from CCTV in the area that there were lots of people in the Town Centre when this offence occurred. We would like to hear from anyone who may have seen anything suspicious.

“If you saw anything suspicious in the Chapel Road or Liverpool Gardens area of Worthing at or around these times, please contact Sussex Police on 101 or email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk quoting serial 0123 of 12/2. You can also call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
