W03080H14 Firefighters from Worthing freed a seagull from a spike on Thursday

A SEAGULL had to be rescued from the roof of a house after it was caught in netting and became stuck on a spike.

The RSPCA and fire service attended a house in Aldsworth Avenue, Goring, at approximately 11.27am on Thursday.

Firefighters used a roof ladder and small tools to free the bird.

The seagull was left in the care of an RSPCA officer.

The incident was resolved by 12.07pm.
