A SHOPLIFTER who stole booze from a supermarket four times in a fortnight was jailed for four weeks at Worthing Magistrates’ Court on Monday, June 16.
Wayne Leyh, 32, of Warren Court, Sompting Road, Lancing, pleaded guilty to a number of charges, which included theft from a shop, burglary, receiving stolen goods and fraud.
On February 17, Leyh stole numerous bottles of alcohol from Sainsbury’s at Lyons Farm in Broadwater.
In a similar crime, Leyh again stole alcohol from the same supermarket five days later on February 22.
He repeated the same offence on February 26 and again on February 28.
The value of the stolen alcohol is unknown.
On March 2, Leyh burgled Café Latte in Warwick Street, Worthing, and on May 9, he stole two Raleigh-branded folding bikes worth a total of £300 from an underground car park in Shoreham.
Leyh also admitted receiving a stolen GT Road Bike valued at £350 on November 14, 2013, knowing it to be stolen, before selling it on the same day.
