Women runners had a ‘cracker’ on Saturday morning as they competed in five and 10 kilometre runs in Worthing, raising money for two charities in the process.
The annual Christmas Cracker Chase organised by Worthing Running Sisters – a female only running club – saw 129 women take part over the two distances, both of which began and ended at the Lido, in Marine Parade.
The 10km run was won by Esther Fair in 46 minutes and one second, with Lydia Jordan of Steyning AC in second place (46 mins 14 secs) and Louise Fretter in third (46 mins 18 secs).
The five km distance was won by Rebecca Arthur of Crawley AC in 20 minutes and 18 seconds, with Lucinda Potten of Horsham Joggers in second place (20 mins 24 secs) and Helen Almond in third (23 mins 23 secs).
