Some of the worst weather in a century has taken its toll on the county’s roads, with a staggering 600 potholes reported since Christmas Eve.

Now, West Sussex County Council is attempting to tackle the issue, in an attempt to restore road surfaces back to their former glory.

The council is sending out dedicated “pothole patrol” crews to deal with the worst-hit areas and is urging the public to upload details of potholes they encounter to the “Love West Sussex” live map on the council’s website, so the damage can be quickly assessed.
